Equine veterinarian new to forum
Hello everyone,

I am Clint McKnight and have been to the forum from time to time and just registered finally. I am an equine veterinarian in private practice for the past 6 years specializing in preventative and sport horse medicine. I will offer any advice I can in the appropriate posts when I can. Currently developing a new practice in california comming soon.

I look forward to the interacting with everyone.

Clint McKnight

I have a question already. I was going to ask our vet when next I had the horse's teeth done. Not sure if this is worth your time. My trainer says it is unlikely I will ever overwork my horse but I still have concerns about summer riding and what are the signs of a horse becoming overheated or dehydrated. We have made quite a few summer plans to ride with friends who have gaited horses so we end up trotting a lot to keep up.

Our doctors are unable to offer concrete information without seeing the horse due to legalities. Even if the horse is an active patient. Too many variables - factors the owner may leave out or add in that can greatly impact the medical advice. I assume you intend to generalize?
