After taking off the saddle yesterday I noticed my horses right side had a big dry area. He is right sided meaning more muscled so I think the saddle may be to tight on that side. Does anyone know of any way to correct this or work on his left side to help muscle him up? Any advice is welcomed..thanks...
Dry areas after a workout means that the saddle is too tight in that area, and is likely not fitting properly overall. I would highly suggest getting a saddle fitter out to pinpoint the problem; either they will be able to fix the problem with an adjustment to the saddle, or they will recommend another solution.
A horse working in a too-tight saddle is comparable to us wearing a too-tight shoe; nothing but a better fitting shoe is going to alleviate the problem.
