Mare in foal showing signs of being in season?
 

hello one and all, i have just found your site and hope one of you can be of some help............ i had a mare scanned in foal last september, the vet said she was 6-8 weeks in foal, i was moving her yesterday past two stallions and she started to show signs of being in season, casting and backing into the horses.

i have spoke to a number of people and have been told different things, some say it is possible for a mare to show signs and still be in foal, others say no...............vet is coming on thursday........guess what i want to know is has anyone on here had the same experience?

It is entirely possible that your mare is still in foal. It is also possible that she lost the foal she was carrying. I have had many a bred mare show heat and go on to deliver a nice, healthy foal.
