lnexpensive Show Coats? l'm looking for a relatively inexpensive show coat (under $175), and there are a lot out there, l just don't know which are good and which are not-so-good. Are there any brands that you like a lot? Which didn't last you a long time? l'm just going to start out showing at some little local shows, but l still want to look presentable :). Thanks in advance! |
JPC has some. I think Schneiders might sell them? Go to Dover as well. |
Thanks! l'll check that out. l forgot to mention: l'm looking for a hunter/jumper show coat. Not sure that it'll make a difference but anyways... :) |
that's what I figured. I just got a JPC brand for $78. It's pretty. |
I have a Devon Air, it's very nice Posted via Mobile Device |
Good to know! I was looking at the Devon-Aire coats, I just have never heard anything- good or bad- about them before. I'll definitely check them out. |
It is not perfectly fitted or anything, but it works until I can get a better one :) Posted via Mobile Device |
I think my old one was a devonaire.... |
How did you like it? Do they generally last a long time? l'm already on a tight budget as it is as far as showing goes, and l want to make sure that l get one that will feel comfortable and won't wear out quickly. Oh and StormyBlues- do you feel like the coat 'gives' over fences at all when you're releasing? |
It was my first jacket so I got it about... 22 years ago. I just bought a new one about 4 years ago. A friend of mines daughter is now wearing my first jacket, so yeah.. I'd say it held up well. Like Stormy said, it's not a fitted jacket but it's a nice looking jacket. My second one was either a Devonaire or a JPC but I got lazy and through it in the washing machine a couple times. It still fits, it's still in good shape but I wanted a new one, I got a greyish blue with lavender plaid. My other jackets were the basic Navy Blue with grey pinstriping. |
