A Draft cross has really got my interest!!!

Draft Cross Horse, Video!

Could anyone tell me, if she is 14.2 at 2 yrs how tall might she be when done growing? I am short & a little fluffy so she seems like a great match for me if she ends up at 15.2. I am so in love with her easy going energy and think she is too cute!

It depends on what the cross is, but if she's 14.2/3 at 2 y/o, she'll probably mature around 15.2/3 h.

Horses as a general rule grow until they're around 6 y/o.

She may end up growing more and being even taller than that if she were to get on some good balanced feed that it appears she has missed out on. Make sure to get a good PPE cause it looks to me like she is stepping short with her right hind.

Oh, wow. There is something really off about that right hind. Look at the part of the vid around 2:50 when she is being ridden straight away from the camera.

I have to agree. Something is really off with that horse's movement.

I think with draftXstock horses they are either really pretty or just plain ugly..... I'm sorry but in my opinion this is not a good looking horse. She does look off in the video and her hind end looks like it doesn't belong to the front end.

I don't really like the way she moves. She just looks stiff doing everything. Even just moving over she looked like she was going to fall over she was so stiff... I'd keep looking if I were you.

She may reach 16 if she is on good feed and kept in top shape. Drafts do grow slowler than other horses so she may be just in a slow stage in growing right now.

I drive a pair of Draft cross they are great

I have to agree with SUJ, it just isn't a very good looking horse, but looks aren't everything. I will take a fugly mongrel if they have a good mind and conformation fit for what I want to do. It is the fact that it seems malnourished and lame that bothers me.

Indyhorse 04-29-2010 06:43 PM

I agree with smrobs and SUJ, you could really find much nicer, even for that amount of money. Her conformation sucks and she doesn't come off as very healthy or well cared for in the video. Not to mention at only 2, a draft cross shouldn't be being ridden yet.

RoxanneElizabeth 04-29-2010 08:04 PM

I was wondering if she looked unhealthy too, now I just feel sorry for her! :(
I will look at the video again.
