I was clipping the legs on my daughters horse the other night and he stood well for the first leg (this is not his first time being clipped). When I started the second leg the blade on the trimmers came loose and must have pulled his hair. Once I tightend them and proceeded on, he didn't like it and threw a "cow kick". This is the first time he has ever tried to kick anyone. I calmed him down, talked to him and ran the clippers around him until he was comfortable. When I tried the leg again, same thing...another kick, he got agitated and would not stand still. The harder I tried, the more he tried. I once again ran the clippers over him because I didn't just want to STOP, but I never resumed the leg.
I am open for suggestions at this point. Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.:-? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
