Pictures of the pretty ponies
So I got a few pictures I thought I would share.
Mostly of Bran :)
I think she's saying how much she doesn't appreciate having to stand here while I take pictures.
Danks mom for the hay and extra shavings. Now I can go roll in them and make a mess of myself...
All wrapped up for the night!
I made a mess of the hay you gave me mom!
Here's the wrap, I haven't wrapped in a few years, so I don't think I did too bad ahha. No Bows are so much nicer to wrap with can cotten quilts.
Here's Bubba's Mommy, Emerald. Bubba's going to be a big brother next year, she's back in foal to Lazy Loper. I rode her the other day and even fat and out of shape she's an awesome mover lol.
And here's the old man of the barn, Winnie. He was there when I moved to the barn in 2001, I took lessons on him for awhile. Best lesson horse ever, except the last few years he's realized that when outside he can walk towards the arena door and little kids can't stop him ahah. You have to ride him with spurs otherwise he won't lope (and that kills your leg). Here's been at the barn since he was 6 years old, and he's at least 32 now. His owner died, and the kids didn't want the horse, and my trainer had been using him for lessons so he basically just go to keep him (all it took was him telling them how much board was a month aha). He got sold once for a year a few years ago, then my trainer bought him back because they weren't using him.
We don't think he'll make another winter, especially if we get these hot summers. Last summer he had to get a shot every two weeks just to help clear his air ways. He's declined faster in the last year then other years. It'll be so sad.
wow he looks great for a 32 year old and I'm sure he will be happy to pass at a place he is home with.
Love your horse Bran so cute :)
Thanks! He's a lucky horse in this day and age to not have had to many homes, especially having basically one home most his life. But he is truly a special horse, not just every horse can be a lesson horse all his life and not get sour.
But he also wasn't in a lesson barn type program. He gave one or two lessons a week max.
