Watermelon...will it hurt him?

Hi! I just found out that my mini donkey loves watermelon. Not the rind, but the flesh. :-o Will this hurt him? As the summer's coming on, our farrier suggested feeding an apple or carrot every day to keep them from dehydrating. But anyway, is it ok to feed this to him? Thanks in advance.

My old mare used to LIVE for watermelon rind. Loved it...and she live to be just short of 37 years.

Watermelon is fine - our TB loves it, not sure about the mini yet as this is her first summer w/us. I do have to wonder, though, how feeding one carrot to a 1000+ pound animal would keep them from dehydrating.

Well mac, if you had one this size, I guess it would work. :-P

I love the interwebz. You can find sooo many things by just Googling.

Except Alwaysbehind. Google hates her, for some reason. She can Google the exact same thing I do, and get squat. I've often wondered what internet gods she's pissed off.... :-P

All of them... I have pissed off all of the internet gods!

Thank goodness I know people like you! Or I would never find anything.
