Crossing over in the front end ?
You may have seen my other thread about trying to learn to ride again after a couple ankle surgeries and a few years off for me and my mare. My mare was "started" in Reining training and used to do pretty smooth spins although relatively slow, which is fine for now. I am just trying to find more excersises to keep her interest but I cant remember how to get her to move that front end for me, and I think I am confusing her. When on the ground she will yield to pressure on the shoulder and cross over no prob, but I cant get her to do it under saddle. Any suggestions ?

My reiners will generally spin with very little to no leg pressure. I nudge once with the reins and shift my weight to the inside stirrup, and they thrw themselves right into it. Just nudge with your heel near the girth area and click your tongue. This is what my reiners respond to, so I'm assuming it will work with yours too.
