Buck Davidson Clinic!
Ok, so I'm lying in my hotel room now SOOO happy about my lesson with Buck!!!! It was awesome!!
We rode in the beginner novice group, so the jumps were all low, but it worked well! I used my auto release, and my position was great!!! We worked on bending and getting strides and having control of the whole horse every step of the way.
My problem was sitting more up and supporting him every step of the course. I will fall through corners. And keeping him balanced underneath my body.
What got me was his comments to me though. He told me that my position really is great and he couldn't find much to tweak about it!!! So I was on cloud nine because you guys know how much I've worked on getting my position perfect. And then he was talking to me after my last ride he said that I had all the skills and the right position to go wherever I want. He also said "the difference between you and me, it isn't in feet or inches, it's in centimeters. It's just tweaking the little things as you go. But those little tweaks are really hard to get."
OH MY GOD! I think you could have blown on me and I would have fallen over. To get that kind of compliment from a person I look up to as much as Buck was amazing!!! I can't wait for XC tomorrow! I'm riding with a more advanced group so I can school higher fences so I'm ready to move up to Novice this fall!!!

That's great Stormy! Job well done!
I thoroughly enjoyed riding with Buck when he was here a few years ago. LOL - is he showing you the famous 1 arm in the air thinggy while you are doing drops? Gosh, he made us all do that when we were riding any drop he pointed us at.
Wow, that's a big compliment. I've watched a few of his clinics, and he wasn't exactly handing compliments out like candy. He seemed like a tough guy to please. Sounds like you're well on your way to the next level.
Omg!!!! Xc was amazing!!! But hard! I was moved up to the novice/training group. He started out just giving us jumps and making us really get our horses out infront of us, and then being able to bring them back with that same energy. Geof was behind my leg SOOO much! I was spurring and cropping him! We finally got him forward, but not without a couple of stops...:p! BUT, we sucesfully (and safely) schooled the training water complex, a couple training jumps, a downhill novice combination, and my confidence is through the roof!!!!! Videos will be up tomorrow!!!

Kim, no he didn't, basically because I wasn't riding the drops as good as I normally do :P (you'll see in the video).
MyBoyPuck - he wasn't! That's why I was so elated! That and the fact that he is SUCH an amazing rider that him saying that MY position was really good made me feel like I was on top of the world!
Well, here is some of the stadium videos, they arn't amazing thanks to my camera, but I will have some pictures up later. The XC video is uploading now.
I think you're looking great - you've improved greatly since last season!
Thanks so much Kim! I am SO proud of myself and my horse! I've finally gotten to the point where I can see my hard work paying off. :D
I know I'm a little ahead of the motion, but it's gotten ALOT better! And I'm working on it now. I need to remeber to keep my butt back towards the cantle. I also need to raise my hands more for the auto release. My friend is uploading the XC pics, and I can't wait to see how we look completly in the air (my other friend whom these pictures came from didn't get any like that). If you have any tips please do tell! (oh and I know the pic over the white oxer my heel has popped up)
More Stadium pics
Cross Country pics! I love em!
