What's your opinion?
I was thinking about purchasing another mini donkey gelding for Owen ( he's also a mini). We also have a mare, but she's getting older, and with him only 2, he gets bored so often! I found one on craigslist I really like (I'll put the link below), what do you think of him? There's not much info on him, and he's 2, although I was thinking of a more mature one. He seems perfect for Owen though, and just what I wanted! Owen's got sooo much extra energy, and I was hoping another might curb the boredom, as it results in cribbing. I try to spend time with him, but I can't really play with him like a donkey would. Anyway, please tell me what you think of him. I might get more information later in the week, and I'll update a post if I do. Thank you!
Nice Mini Gelded Paint Donkey
What a cutie :) Donks sure do love having other donkey buddies :)
Thanks CheyAut! I am still contemplating contacting the seller. I don't want to commit to something, because we live a hour away (not that much I guess), and we don't have a trailer. I would be willing to pay her to haul him if she could. If not, I don't know what I'll do!
Another thing: she has another donkey in the picture that she mentioned selling along. I don't want to take his friend away! I know that sounds weird, but I can't stand separating buddies! ;)
If I did get him, how much space should I allow? Right now we have 1 mini donkey, and one horse on 1 and 1/3 acres. My Dad is going to be fencing in some more land, so that will bring it up to 1 and 5/6 acres. Would that be enough if I got another (2 mini's and 1 fullgrown horse total if I bought another)? We provide hay and grain, and often we let them eat out of the pasture, in surrounded grassy areas. I personally think it would be Ok. It seems like somewhere I heard "an acre per horse". Thanks again!
As long as you supliment there feed you have plenty of room. I wouldn't leave the single one there. They should go together. They say geldings are alot more entertaining than mares and play alot. That is a good price for up north
