Looking for the right bit!
I just bought a young mare just over a month ago & she's doing really awesome. The only problem i'm having with her is when i get her into a lope or gallop, she is almost impossible to turn! I've worked with her on the ground & she has great flexion at a walk & trot but anything faster & she can get pretty hard to turn & this is sort of going to be an issue as i've started her in gymkhanna & am hoping to eventually be able to run her on the barrels & poles.
I was hoping someone might know of a bit that would help to encourage her to turn better (she's in a tom thumb right now because the snaffle just wasn't cutting it with her). Any suggestions???

I personally like French Link Snaffles with a full cheek for lateral movement. I also like a Single Jointed Snaffle with a full cheek.

Anything with straight cheeks will help with lateral aids - So that's a full cheek, half spoon, D ring or fulmer.

Thanks alot, i'll have to look for one. I was thinking of something with straight/full cheeks but i've never used one & wasn't sure what to buy, just incase is didn't work. All i know is that the tom thumb isn't doing the job & neither did the D-ring, which is what she was in originally.
