"Is Your Horse Part Unicorn?"

Today I was at the barn when a little girl came up to me and said "Excuse me, is your horse part unicorn?" It was so cute! But then a little boy came up and asked if he was part donkey, which kind of ruined the cuteness of the unicorn question. lol. What funny things have people asked you about your horse?

I had a sorrel quarter horse with two blue eyes that we called Blue. She came with that name and I just never wanted to change it so it stuck. I constantly had people asking why her name was blue...after awhile I'd just roll my eyes and point to her eyes haha

We used to get the whole "are you sureeeee she's not a paint. She has to be a paint there's no way she's not!" all this based on eyes alone because she had no white markings besides her face :p

I once unloaded my three mares -- Magic, Tanner, and Ruby -- at a show, tied them to the trailer, and had a lady wander over from the neighboring trailer. She looked them all over and then asked "Oh, so you ride Arabians, too?"
I thought maybe she didn't know horse breeds all that well, and explained that Magic and Tanner were purebred Quarters and Ruby was a grade (suspected Quarter/Arabian)... while I can see a bit of Arabian in Ruby, /maybe/ Tanner if you squint, but Magic is simply too bulky to look Arabian to me. And none of them have that dished face look.
Then she went back to her trailer, and I happened to notice the writing on the side of her trailer... she apparently /breeds/ Arabians, and had two fine specimens tied to her trailer. -facepalm-

I had another person ask if I ever thought about breeding Dio... and just as I was about to say "Well, he's already gelded to avoid just that." the person continued with "She looks like she'd throw some pretty colts!"
I had to stare for a bit because, well, he's pretty tall, and not shy about hanging his *ahem* "bits" out at randomly inappropriate times. It's pretty hard to miss, even if he does look a bit feminine.
I've also had a few people assume that he was Bandit/Dante's dam...

I can't think of anything to add, but I do have a picture of a Welsh gelding I used to work with, and if you slapped a horn on him and changed the background, he would indeed look like a myth come to life. =]

I was trying to tack up Pippa(my previous horse) at a show last year and she was being a brat, running around, whinnying, just being a mare, and a guy comes up and says, "Got a bit of alpha in him, don't he?" I responded with, "Yeah, SHE'S a handful." He then asked how old HE was, and when I said ten, he was totally shocked that this stallion was so hyper as a ten year old, and how he thought he was three.

I'm convinced some days that's exactly what they are!

We have a sorrel overo gelding with a blue eye and I get that...''Is he blind in that eye". No...it's just the color...he can see just fine. lol When we first got him the little neighbor girl came over to see him and said, "I like his paintings" lol Thought that was cute.
