Fly sheets: Too hot for horses?

I finally have a bit of extra cash, and was thinking about getting Sunny a fly sheet. The flies are dreadful this year. The traps are full, and horses are annoyed. They all get sprayed with Endure once a day, but it doesn't seem to do much good. There are just too many flies! So, here's what I want to know: Here in Alabama, the summer temperatures are in the 90s daily, sometimes in the low 100s(The high is 101 today). I have been doing research on this matter and I am getting conflicting opinions. Some say they reflect UV rays and cool the horse, while others say that they can overheat the horse. What do you guys think? The one I am looking at is a simple sheet(no neck cover) made of nylon mesh.
