PLEASE- 50+ TB will go to the slaughter plant on 7-26-10. Please help!
A breeder of TB horses in Chase, British Columbia has run into financial difficulty and has 50 gorgeous registered TB's that will go DIRECTLY to the kill plant this coming 7-26-10 if they can't get them sold- only 500$ each- which is what they expect to get for meat prices. Anything over 8 yrs old is broke for riding- there is broodmares, yearlings, 2 and 3 yr olds- GORGEOUS. Some of these horses are just stunning. I am not a TB person but I think they are beautiful. People are fundraising and donating so the horses may be even cheaper now. Please- if you are looking for another mouth to feed and you love TB, would you take a look??
TB's need saving in BC. Go to the rescue link on Chris's site you will see the horses for sale. They are beautiful and healthy. If anyone can help please contact me ASAP thanks again!! Craig 250-417-9717 or email donations to Ryon@island.net Thank You all for your support. Lets get all these horses safe!!

So very sad, draft.
Thanks for posting. Maybe someone who needs a nice horse will be able to take one of these.
I already have my TB, and am unfortunately full up at the moment. :-(
I know, I am full up here too. Thanks Speed Racer- situations like this are just so sad. I really feel for the owner- and for the horses. I wish that we had more time to find homes.
A lot of them are very well bred- some are by Affirmed- I am not a TB person but I recognize some of the names on there. It would be truly a waste for them to be killed.
At least their breeder is letting them go for what they'd bring at meat auction.
Some breeders/owners have unrealistic expectations of how much their animals are worth, so they do wind up going for meat.
I just hope if this person is in financial difficulty, that she's quit breeding altogether at this point.
Agreed. I hope that they do stop breeding, at least until they get things figured out and they are in a better place financially. I can't imagine FEEDING 50 horses, let alone vet bills, farrier bills... I have 11 right now and that is expensive!
I have 3, and with the TB I literally doubled my feed bill. Ayrabs don't each that much, but TBs do! :-P
Meat market looms for B.C. horses
So far, all but just 8 have found homes!!! This is awesome!!
Yes, Arabs do tend to be quite easy keepers! The hardest horses I've had to feed were TB's. I swear, the last TB I had here ate more than my draft.
It's too bad they care more about getting money for them than they do about getting them in good homes :( But glad most have been bought!
omg i wish i could help but i just got a new foal and my paddok is full!!! that is soo sad!!
I wish I had enough money for more horses, I'd buy them all!
Someone should post this on craigslist.
