Your thoughts on all sport boots....

I'm getting a pair eventully and i just thought i would shop around and find the best brand, or is there any difference between like professional choice and "no name" so to say? Are they easy to clean, because i was thinking of getting black just for that reason. Although i would like light blue... comments anyone :D

I would love light blue as well!

I adore Professional Choice's boots, I have 8 all together *had many more, but sold the majority* and I love them. I have Navy Blue, Black, White and Red.

You can throw them in the washer if you want, or hose them off - whichever you choose. I, throw them in the washer. I just do them up like I would if they were on a horse, toss them in and voila.

I have some SMBs, and love them...I need to get a set for the rear legs, as I only have fronts...I just use Polos on the rear legs right now. I have never bought any 'off brands' of boots, so not sure how well they work...I did have a different set that my mom bought years ago, and I didn't like the way they fit at all, so wound up giving them away.

There is another brand, that supposedly 'breaths' better than SMB's but I don't remember the name of them...they looked really nice too, and if I ever come across them at another expo, may just snatch up a set.

I just splurged and bought a set of 4 Professional's Choice boots on sale for $95. I have yet to try them, but they look great in the bag! LOL

The ones that breathe better are Pegasus boots, I have a pair and I quite like mine. I got them airbrushed with tiger stripes, totally awesome on my buckskin. However I really prefer SMB elites, as pegasus boots don't fit very well with bell boots. The pegasus boots can be used on fronts or backs, they're interchangeable which is really cool.

Yeah, those were them! I couldn't remember the name for the life of me! Thanks!

My pair of SMB's don't work with my bell boots, either...unfortunately, but my mare hasn't really over reached much in months, so I am not so concerned about having the bells on all the time...If I feel she needs them, I put her polos on instead

I personally prefer Professionals Choice. Out of all their styles, I prefer the elites, but if you are on a tighter budget the SMB 3's are also wonderful. I show my 4-yearold contester in the 3's. The bells go on fine with them.

I heard Classic Equine could be good, bbut I have never had them, SO i don't know.

Thanks everyone! I just looked it up and there is only 10$ difference on the pro choice website.

Professional"s Choice recently came out with a vented version of their boots (I believe they are called VenTech). Might be worth looking into. I like PC SMB's also, but always felt that they made the legs rather hot...not so good for tendons which are sensitive to heat.

Anyway, Woof Wear also makes vented boots...their Double Lock Brushing Boot is lightweight and vented and can be used on either front or rear. They do run large...just something to note.

Good to know, definally will look into good ventilation. the Ventech i think was the ones i was looking at for 149$ for 4
