Warning!! The following pics are somewhat terrifying...
there are more "scary" pictures, but my pc is getting upset, so I will post them later!
Thanks in advance for critiquing -- I enjoy hearing what others have to say![/url]
1st pic- Hard to say, but it looks like your pinching a bit with your knee and your leg has slipped back a tad. Otherwise it looks very nice.
2nd pic-Not much to critique here, I do love how you are out of her mouth.
3rd pic-I would rather see your butt in the saddle, but your back is nice and your chin is up.
4th pic-Cute! I wish I could braid like that...
5th pic-Looks to me like you have a tendency to pinch with your knee and let your leg slip back. I would say work on some stirrupless riding over cavalettis and poles, that oughta fix your issues.
6th pic-Good release, and your chin is up! Your horse has good form, knees nice and tucked. However, your leg has slipped and your knee is pinching.
7th pic-I love your horse! And you always have your chin up, a big plus. I sound like a broken record, but your pinching a bit with your knees again.
8th pic-Your back and chin are excellent, your horse is hanging just a tad, and your leg has slipped back.
9th pic-Not a whole lot to critique. Your chin is up very nicely though.
10th pic-Pretty! YOur horse is in good form, your chin is ap and back flat. Your leg isn't bad, not perfect, though.
11th pic-Your position looks perfect. This looks like the typical lazy pony, but your keeping up pretty well.
12th pic-Hard to critique, you look alright besides being slightly behind and not releasing enough.
13th pic-You're caught behind and in his mouth.
14th pic-Yeah... I don't need to explain
You have a very nice horse, just need to work on your legs a bit and you'll be great!
1: Hard to really see, but it looks like you are pinching with your knee. Your leg looks good. I would try to get your shoulders back a little more, though it can be hard in a hunt coat.
2: Good, again shoulders back. She's a nice looking by the way.
3: I also agree with the above poster, that I would also like to see you in the saddle a little more. Your horse also seems very heavy on the forehand here, and again... shoulders back.
4: She really is a pretty horse!
5: Really pinching with your knee and getting too far in front of the saddle. Sit back more. Even if you are doing a half seat, you don't have to be that far forward. Especially if you are turning, if you sit and support your horse they will have an easier time turning and it will look nicer.
6: It's hard to see your leg, but it looks like it might have slipped back, and you are pinching with your knee. You give a nice release, but try not to support your upper body on her neck. You might not be... it might just look like that in the picture.
7:Congrats on the 2nd! You look like you are leaning forward... though I can't tell very well. thumbs up and shoulders back.
8: You have a good position over fences, but you need to stop pinching with your knee.
9: Sit up! You look very slouched and hunched. Shoulders up and back.
10: Kind of hard to see. You guys look pretty good. Really work on your shoulders.
11: Really blurry..... It looks like you may have gotten a little ahead, but it's hard to tell since the picture is so blurry.
12: Kind of hard to see, your release has gotten much better though.
13: More release since you have her mouth pretty firmly.
14: Were left behind then came down too early and was behind the saddle. You know, even though your "scary pictures" you have faults, it still isn't bad.
You and your horses do very well together. You do a great job looking ahead of you and keeping your chin up. You guys must clean up in the show ring!
In general, you need to sit back more. It looks like you are always pinching with your knees, which is pitching your upper body forward and your lower leg back both on the flat and in the air.
There should be a straight line from your ear, shoulder, hip, and down the back of your heel. Because you are tipped forward over your horse's shoulder, it's causing her to move very heavy on the forehand.
You need to grip more with the inside of your thigh and calf and less with your knee. Spend lots of time without stirrups to build up those muscles and ride lots of two-point at all gaits without supporting your weight through your hands on her neck.
Your horse is beautiful and obviously well-cared for. I like that you are always looking up where you are going, and you look cool, calm, and confident!
Sorry im not going to critique, but im going to comment on how well your horse looks :D Keep up the great work
Looks as if you are pinching with your knee a little. Just move your leg foward so it is right behind the girth and that will bring your center of balance to the middle of the saddle. That will also create a flatter back.
Although you are in the recovery you could bring your top end(above the waist) about 3 in back. Other than that you look really good! I love your heels!!
This is where your seet should be in the second pic!! Very nice center of balance. Just put a little more bend in your elbows!! Other words is perfect
Shes got to get her rest sometime ha ha ha my horse sleeps all the time at shows!!!
Your center is off. You need to bring your seet back about 4 or so in and push your leg behind the girth. Right now you are gripping with your knee causing your leg to go back and your body to go forward so to do this put the weight evenly through out your leg and bring your toe so it is touching the girth.
Once agian you are pinching with your knee. Nice release..Its long but you have nice hand placement. Just make sure you aren't using your hands for balance. Your hands are there to guide the horse.
Can't tell much but VERY nice leg. Love the heel and most importantly your toes are in!! Congrats on the Second!!
Here it looks like you tried to jump the jump before your horse. You need to wait until the horse folds your body up. A good thing to practice this is riding with out irons through gymnastics or over course. Ride without hands through gymnastics. Ride with out eyes through gymnastics or ride bareback(helps more with balance) but also helps with patience.
Can't tell much but I like the placement of your leg!! Right behind the girth
Can't tell much but you look really nice
PERFECT formation as far as I can tell!! sorry about Ziggy he looks so cute!!
Can't see it to well
Overall you need to work on your legs!! You have very nice horses and a lot of potential!!!
