clipping late in the season..

Hi mini people,
I have one last show in 3 weeks. i clipped my mare 3 weeks before for another show we had last week, (confusing ) hoping that the clip would last for this show. Her hair grew like a weed, and its not at a pretty length, I am wondering if I should re clip her for the show., and Chico my gelding . here is the delima:
We live 1500 meters up in the Swiss alps, and the weather has been cool, even a bit of snow behind us. The show is 2 hours south in Italy where the weather will be very hot. The last show was also in Italy and poor horses were very warm. I have loads of blankets if I do clip , but is it worth it for 4 days?
thanks for the advise,

Here in the US minis are clipped prior to every show, but can't speak for your country, sorry!
