so not sure where this should go but was wondering what i should do with my horses feet... i have a show this weekend and don't normally color his feet but i think i might this weekend... but the problem is he has three black feet and then and white and black foot should i do black on the three and then clear on the other one of what???

I would do clear on all 4. just an opinion, good luck!

Clear on all 4 would be your best bet. Also one thing to remember, so that your application of the polish is even you want to use sandpaper on your horses feet to help remove any excess dirt, poop, crusty hoof growth along band. Doing this will give your application a smooth clean polished look. Good luck with your show.

What I do is I put black hoof polish on the black hooves and clear on the white hoof, it is different and fun!

At the barn I used to work at, the owner would blacken the black hooves. Then scrub the ones that had black and white. He would blacken the stripe, then put clear on the whole thing. Of course he had a steady hand and had been doing it for years. If I had to do what he did, the stripe would come out looking pretty funky...lol

Is this a local fun show, or a rated one?

If it's rated, you'd better find out what the rules are concerning using hoof black. Some show venues don't allow hoof black any longer; only clear is acceptable.

I have a horse like that and I put black on the Black ones and clean the white one realy good then put clear on that one.

If I am not mistaken, I believe all the hooves are usually painted black, regardless of what color they are. In western classes, anyway.

Well, as I learned today, there are different ways for every breed, discipline, etc. So, you really need to check it out specifically for what you are showing in.

This is the norm and depending on the association is also the rules.
