Emma's Art Journal

A'ight, so I started liking realism, so rather I think I'm going to start doing an Art Journal.

I'll go ahead and post what I put in my other "Epic Fail" post, but continue in this one unless youi are inclined to respond to that thread.

This is a Drawing by Numbers portrait--no numbers, no directions, I just started out with an outline sketch of the drawing and worked on my shading. These are the first two horses so far, 3H through 6B, I think they're quite dreadful. About 3 hrs each, and I'm hoping I would've spent longer on them instead and made them look better.

I think they look awesome! Honestly, I've seen some artists (*cough AnimalArkBooks cough*) who aren't even as good as that.

Haha thanks!

I think they look great! I love your shading. Just one thing - I would try to work on the nostrils more. The sketches don't have much as far as the nostrils, so I would look at another reference picture and tweak it from there. Do you see what I mean? They don't look as realistic if they are little crescents. That is, if you want the practice. Nice job, though! :wink::grin:

Thanks =]
I actually was referencing solely the sketch--that's all I had to go off of. I'm gonna try to do it slower nexttime.

I like the top one. Good job with the texture in the hair ;) I also like the shading in the mane & halter in the 2nd as well

Thank you ^^;;

I just thought I'd mention that I have the exact same kit :)
Great work

^^ Cool

Here's the third horse--sorry it's a bit blurry. I wish I went slower in some spots still.
