Specail Hackamore for English Riding?

I have been considering trying out a hackamore with Blu. Is their a certain type that will help me out with jumping and English? I already have a western hackamore similar to this:

Help....lol

Here's what I have:

Also, I want to know if using a hackamore with the tighter rein in English would cause a problem because of the way they work?

Blu, as far as I know that's pretty standard for English hackamores. I don't see any reason not to slap it on an English bridle and jump with it as long as you are aware of its strength and how to properly release so you don't catch his chin :)
These are the ones I commonly see in the Jumper ring, and it's not altogether different from yours:

I used a hackamore for my first two years of competitive riding. I've ridden Blu with one just not all the time. Can you use it with an English bridle nose band and all???

Thanks!

No, you don't use the noseband, but you keep everything else the same:

I use the same hackamore that you have on my jumper mare. For your question about the tighter rein its all about staying out of your horse's face. In a hackamore you can't ask for a head set and you can't be to demanding.
I recently started using it as my horse use to shake her head and pull but now when she tries to do that she stops immediatly. I love it she turns stops and goes in it without a problem.

I just slid the nose band off and that was it.

Hope this helps!! I love hackamores on my mare!!!! :D

I haven't found that.. I think that you should be able to get a headset regardless of what you have (or don't have) on the horse's face... but that's just me... and I'm not meaning to sound mean about it, just trying to voice my opinion :)
But yes, Brit had a good point - you have to be a little more conciencious about your hands, and not snap at his face :)

I think that you can get a headset because you are asking at the poll and not the mouth. lol. Just a guess. Thank guys!!!

I'm thinking I might just start out with a snaffle to get his headset and the overall essentials of English and better riding. Then I might switch. I still have to find out if I can show in a hackamore as well.

yeah i do understand for most horses the headset is through the pole but my mare is still new to it and so i guess that is why she doesn't give one in a hackamore...oh well :D
