It's The End Of A Long Journey.
Many of you know my stud horse Jester. He's been my horse since he was three. We share our birthdays and even when he was younger I'd ride and competed on him. He's given us many a gorgeous foal and lots of fun rides. Unfortunately, there always has to be an ending....
No, he's not going to die. But his time in the arena has come to an end. This is my major announcement that Jesters Cowboy is down for the count.
As a youngster he had OCD in his left stifle and
seemed he would never be able to compete. But after much persuasion my grandparents paid to have the surgery to turn him back into a sound rising horse. After the recovery, they continued to turn him into a Reiner.
Soon after he was finished they started him on flag. He took to it like a kid takes to candy. His natural cow sense made him a prime candidate for a reined cowhorse.
I learned on this amazing stallion and I don't know what I'm going to do now that he won't be my competitive mount. I just want to cry when I think about it, but I knew he wouldn't be around forever and at age sixteen he has given me many years of service and I'm eternally grateful to him. We'll still do
some trail riding but he has major arthritis in his hind end and it's not fair to ask him to compete anymore.
Love you Jester, your career has been one of the best....
