Vets - Do you still have time to ride?

I'm considering vet school, but I'm afraid it won't leave me any time to ride. How do you guys do it?

I'd also like to hear from vet techs, vet assistants, chiropractors, acupuncturists, etc.

Thanks :D

I am a vet tech and still have plenty of time to ride. You always get days off.
The two vets I work for both ride alot, one vet does reining competitions. Again, they have scheduled days off and vacations and also evenings.

i work with a lot of vet techs and vets. the vet techs definitely have time to ride. the vets do, but not always very much. my vet boards at my barn & is on call a lot. she often gets calls in the middle of her ride & has to leave. not to scare you away, but i wouldnt assume that you are going to be able to be a vet & ride regularly all the time.

Honey, I'm a mom and don't always have time to ride. My hubby is a firefighter and seldom has time to breathe much less ride, so don't limit yourself. Any profession is demanding.

I just finished vet assistant school...I am in the process of job hunting which is harder than I thought. I know my vet doesn't get to ride very much. He is always doing something it seems.

What school are you going to? You should check out OSU, it has one of the best vet programs in the country :)
