What is this??????
My new pinto mare Dime was just body clipped and she has a patch of hair that is thicker than the others and it is really hard..What is this..The vet is coming out in about 2 weeks to do shots should this be something I am conserned about???

Here is a photo....Its not too good but it may give you an idea....

Thanks :)

Since its on a white patch I would be a little concerned. Is it just thicker hair or is the skin itself thickening? I would have the vet take a look at it when he is there.

its hair...if that helps....

So its not a melanoma. Thats usually the skin and its blackish
That was my concern. I would still ask the vet

Yeah we know its not melanoma because we have another 19yo grey Tb who has malenomas.. Its not really a bump either its just hard...I will have the vet look at it but it is so weird!!!

Raint Rot???

I've never seen that. Of course it would help to see her in person. I'd definatly get the vet out to check it, espically if it gets bigger.
