Are pro choice smb boots ok for shipping a horse?

I havent gotten a pair of shipping boots yet and i am have my mare transported about an hour away tomorrow...would it be fine to use pro choice smb elites? I had a horse get a nasty gash in the trailer once so i want to wrap her in something...or would polos be better? Thanks!

I would say the SMBs would be better than polos because there is always a chance that the polos could slip or become loose and the horse could become tangled in them and injure itself. However, I moved my mare to a new barn recently, and I don't have shipping boots so I picked up some cheap pillow wraps and used Vetrap to wrap her legs. You could try that, too.

NO, the SMB boots don't breath very well. There excellent for competiton, but should always be taken off afterwards because they can cause the tendon damage with over heating. I'd image a hot trailer ride for an hour could hurt.

I never heard of over-heating causing tendon damage...
