Show halter color? HELP!

I have a dun paint mare. I've shown her wearing black and turquoise. I noticed the black really pulls out her dun points. Now here's my question... I have a new dun tobiano colt (see avatar). I plan to show him in halter as a yearling next show season. What color halter would you suggest using on him? Knowing that black pulls the points out on my mare makes me think that dark oil might be the way to go, but I'm not sure. I know that light oil would just fade into his coat color. So, dark, medium or light oil? Help!!! :?

def dark. the lighter the horse the darker the color you want. and vice versa

That was my thinking, too. If I went with a light oil halter, it would just blend in to his coat. Thanks TurnNBurn625. :D
