Fly sheets
Any experience to share? Any recommendations on brand and store? I never used them, so have zero experience, however we had LOTS of flies last summer (there is small creek right next to the field). My biggest concern with the temperatures we have (over 90F with %100 humidity can stay for days) the horses will be boiled if I put sheet on...

Actually sheets can help reflect the sunlight and keep you cooler. Ever wonder why people in the really hot countries wear turbans and thin wavy clothings that are long sleeved? It keeps the sun off their skin and actually can keep them cooler. Sheets act the same, and even better, it helps prevent sun bleaching.

i'm getting my horse an amigo bugbuster. They are expensive but i think it will be worth the money.

I always kept a summer sheet on my horses...
here's a great online store:

I LOVE their stuff, and they ship very promptly.

Thanks a lot, folks! One more question... Should I look for cotton sheet or nylon? So far all I've seen were mostly nylon...

If you're doing turnout (ESPECIALLY with other horses) get a nylon one!! Definitely! Cotton ones will get shredded in about 2 seconds flat.
If possible, get a rip-stop material :) What's your budget?
Here are my picks:

JD, it's little (well, actually a lot) above my budget (since I have 2 horses). What do you think about this one?

and scroll down to Saxon Soft Mesh Standard Neck Fly Sheet. That's kinda my price range plus I have gift card from jeffers I have to use anyway.

I just buy the cheaper fly sheets because they can rip them easy and its pointless to buy expensive ones over and over again. I also buy a fly sheet one size larger than my blankets to use them in the winter so that if the horse gets caught it rips the fly sheet insted of my expensive blankies. The keep the sun off the horse and keep them cool as well as protecting the horses coat from bleaching out.
