My first miniature!
Hello! I'm a 20 year old girl from sweden, and have just become the owner of an american miniature mare, named Spectacular Baybe. To make things even better she is believed to be pregnant with an bay-tobiano-appy stallion, also pure american miniature. I'll be getting the test results back this week, keep your fingers crossed for me!
I really hope that she is pregnant, the foal would be so cute, specilly if it inherits some tobiano from dad.
I'm picking her up in one months time, and until then I just need to tell everyone in the world about her :D She is 28.4" tall (71cm) so she is small and insanely cute. The stallion is 30.4" tall.
This is my little darling:
And this is the stallion she is believed to be in foal to:
They are wonderful. They should make a nice looking foal.
Gorgeous!! Congrats!! Hope you will share lots of photos of her.
I got a message from the previous owner that the vet called and confirmed that Baybe is pregnant, so in mars-april you will see a bunch of foal pictures! :D
Oh I can hardly wait to meet the foal, how exciting! I hope it will be a tobiano like the daddy.
And most likely a lot of pics from me taking her home, and her belly growing and such....and some random pics, just because.
Very cute, and the coat on both of them is gorgeous. I hope she foals for you!
Congrats on your first mini. They are a lot of fun. Make sure to post some pictures of this girl when you get her.
This friday-sunday I am going to the place where I am moving, and I'll bring with me my camera and take some pictures of the stable where she will live. It is located 10-15 minutes away from my apartment, a "normal" sized box, the owners will make a new door for her, so she can look out into the stable :)
In the first few days she will have a own pen (correct translation?) within the pen (pasture = correct translation perhaps?), where there are thee other, larger horses. I want them to be used to her before having her too close, also that will give us the chanse to see if any of the other mares (they are all mares) get to excited about baybe being so small. I have been extremely worried about that, her being so small and they so lage in comparison, but the stable ower don't think we'll have any problems.
I just don't want her to be alone, and yet I don't want her to be in danger in any way :(
I can hardly believe that in a few short weeks time, I'll have her there! Oh I have a few brushes, towels, safety gear and tons of stuff I need to get, my oh my oh my! :o
Good luck! She's adorable.
OMG! She is beautiful! I can't wait to see the foal. I got my first mini (Bruno, pinto 34"gelding) in Dec 09 and my second (Boo, palomino 29"gelding) in May 2010. I just adore them both!
You are wise to gradually introduce the mini to the other horses. I know there are quite a few people on this forum that don't believe minis should be turned out with big horses, but I do not agree. I see it all the time here in my neighborhood...and as long as they seem to get along for awhile with people watching, i am sure they will be fine eventually. Good luck!
Oh goodness you are so freaking lucky! I remember when i got my first mini (my first actual horse too lol) *sigh* oh how i'd love to own one again... yours is much prettier than mine was though lol. He was about 16 when i got him, really fat & furry, around 34 inches & i named him Nestor he he he :D We used to picket him out on a long rope on the lawn all summer & he'd mow it in cropcircles lol Wish my current horses were such easy keepers!
