Your favorite ground pole exercises
What are your favorite exercises to do with ground poles? I need some ideas to spice up our flatwork sessions!
I set up two ground poles about 4 strides apart, and practice getting 3, 4, 5, 6, and sometimes 7 strides in between. it helps to be able to slow or speed up when necessary
Place two ground poles about 20' apart. Trot over the center of the first pole and then ride a perfectly round 20 meter circle that takes you back over the same pole. Then continue onto the second pole and do it again. Repeat with different size circles and/or change which poles to make circles after.

Set up 4 poles on the points of a 20,15, or 10 meter circle and get the same amount of strides in each quadrant. It will boast your dressage scores and make the circles symmetrical.
Set up 6-8 canter poles and canter through them. Easy, but difficult. It helps your hands and the rocking of your hips.
Set up two poles (this can be done with jumps too) about 3-4 strides apart. Take the first pole straight, leg yield at the canter left to the outside of the second jump/pole, then right half circle to the next jump/pole (so you're coming at it facing the pole you just crossed over), leg yield right, repeat. I drew a really crappy diagram, lol.
Set up two poles with a stride in between, and go over the first one straight then leg yeild to the second. Again, it sounds easy. It's alot harder than you'd think. I have more in my brain, but they're failing me right now! lol!
