Missy and Dee
These are my girls. Both are Quarter Horses
The Sooty Buckskin (yes she has been genetically tested), is 12yo and 16hh.
The other buckskin is 5yo, 14hh and due to foal in 10 days.
Bay will be AQHA\APHA.
What do you think?
Good looking mares! I really like the muscle mass in the forarm on the sooty bucksin.
What do you use them for? What stallion is your 5 yr old bred to? Be sure to post pictures when the foal arrives!
The mare I'm working with is due mid-April. Foal is an "oopsie" from my client's past "trainer." (Phoned up my client one day in May last year saying "You might want to prepare for a foal next year. Just walked out on my [2 year old] stallion on top of your mare. Oops. Hope you don't mind.")
^^ are you serious? Is that also the reason why it's her past trainer?
I adore to see photos of other fellow forumers! thanks for the pics.
Couldn't be more serious. The trainer (*ahem* “trainer”) had the mare for a month at $500/month, and did nothing for her but make her head-shy, scared to lunge, and pregnant. With a grade stallion… and the mare is grade and well… none too pretty? Anyways, there’s another grade foal on the way… *sigh*
Something tells me the stallion wasn’t in the most stallion-proof paddock. It sounds like the guy didn’t really care anyways. From the description both the guy and the horse should be gelded pronto.
had to laugh when you said the guy and horse should be gelded
What's a sooty buckskin? Is the coloring different?
You have gorgeous horses btw
Very pretty Quarters!! I love the muscle. Very powerful.
Baby has arrived
Dee foaled out Monday. The baby, Annie, is doing well. Will be sending off hair for genetic testing to verify if she is a dun or buckskin. Sire is Got Time To Rock. I went ahead and posted a picture of him as well.
Annie is so cute!
Glad both mom and Annie are doing well.
Annie's sire is gorgeous
