Coreographing?!?!

I want to do a free style reining pattern to Big Green Tractor. But...... I know nothing about coreographing. And not much about free style reining. Does anyone have advice about what to do?? Any help would be
Appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Without knowing the basics of reining, you can't really make a choreograph to a song. Can your horse that you'll be using do a sliding stop, flying lead change, spin on the haunch, etc?

Yes she can do all of those moves but she is still new at flyings, she just got broke last month and has only been riden 20 times but she should be better at leads soon.

You have a horse that is green that can do sliding stops and spins on the haunches?? That's impressive, but almost unbelievable. I know from both experience and other people on the forum most reining horses take years to finish and get these moves correct. But either which way, my first recommendation would be to go to youtube. Start just watching as many freestyle reining videos as you can. Get an idea of how these riders lay out their show to the music. Now...take your lyrics to the song:

She had a shiny little Beemer with the rag top down
Sittin' in the drive but she wouldn't get out
The dogs were all barkin' and waggin' around
And I just laughed and said y'all get in

She had on a new dress and she curled her hair
She was looking too good not to go somewhere
Said "what you want to do, baby, I don't care
We can go to the show, we can stay right here"

And I can take you for a ride on my big green tractor
We can go slow or make it go faster
Down through the woods and out to the pasture
'Long as I'm with you it really don't matter

Climb up in my lap and drive if you want to
Girl, you know you got me to hold on to
We can go to town, but baby if you'd rather
I'll take you for a ride on my big green tractor

Said we can fire it up and I can show you around
Sit up on the hill and watch the sun go down
When the fireflies are dancing and the moon comes out
We can turn on the lights and head back to the house

Or we can take another ride on my big green tractor
We can go slow or make it go faster
Down through the woods and out to the pasture
'Long as I'm with you it really don't matter

Climb up in my lap and drive if you want to
Girl, you know you got me to hold on to
We can go to town, but baby if you'd rather
I'll take you for a ride on my big green tractor

Just let me dust off the seat
Mmm, put your pretty little arms around me
here we go

You can climb up in my lap and drive if you want to
Girl, you know you got me to hold on to
We can go to town, but baby if you'd rather
I'll take you for a ride on my big green tractor

Oh yeah, yeah
We can go to town
or We can go another round
On my big green tractor

Now what you want to do is incorporate all of your moves into the lyrics and plan it all out. I think the chorus would be a great time to do your spins...for example:

You can climb up in my lap and drive if you want to
Girl, you know you got me to hold on to (Clockwise spin during the first two lines)
We can go to town, but baby if you'd rather
I'll take you for a ride on my big green tractor (Counter-clockwise spin these two lines)

Maybe during these lines start them off with a slow lope and then go into a canter when he says faster:

Or we can take another ride on my big green tractor
We can go slow or make it go faster
Down through the woods and out to the pasture
'Long as I'm with you it really don't matter

Ok, so I wasn't the only one thinking that! In only 20 rides, wowza. Have you tried out for Road To The Horse? Seriously though, I'm not trying to be snarky. You're just kind of coming across like someone who has a competition ready reiner with just 20 rides. Not possible. At all.

I agree with mliponoga. Check out youtube and watch some reining videos, some reining competitions, etc. There are some good reining rides on youtube that you can learn from, and there are some neat freestyle ones. I remember one in particular was to the theme of Pirates of the Carribean. That was a very cool free style reining pattern I thought. Here it is:

I'm thinking this horse had more than 20 rides.

lol well for starters, nice choice in a song. I love country music :).
next, please don't ruin your horse by attempting this after hardly any training what-so-ever.

Seconded :P

So many things I could say right now but I'll hold back...I would just love to see a horse that is trained for reining after 20 rides.

Gidget 09-28-2010 02:23 AM

uhhh yeeea, she is still in the baby stages of being broke. She has a lot to learn and I doubt this horse is einstien. But just keep working with her and make sure she has all the basics down. I wish I could do that stuff but no my horse nor I know how to do that.
