New Person who finally found the intro thread!

Hi all!

I'm Tracy and I hail from Washington State. Currently leasing a 6 yr old OTTB mare named Izzy to see if we will make good partners. Ive just started and havent even ridden her yet (waiting on back ordered equipment) so we have been doing some ground work. She is a sweet quiet girl on the ground and her owner says she is the same when ridden which is what I am looking for...the older I get, the quieter I want them . Ive owned horses in the past but due to life issues (yah divorce!)...I found homes for them all. So, now that life has settled down after a few years, I am ready again.

I am interested in lower level dressage and trail riding...for the most part but am open to learning about all types of riding.

I have been reading the threads for a day or two and have really enjoyed the information. Cant believe Ive never found this board before now. Nice to meet you all...

(PS Finally figured out the carrot deal...now that is good fun) :D

Hello and welcome! So glad there is another OTTB lover here, your mare sounds like a sweetheart. Horses are much more reliable then men eh?

Carrot deal?

Hello,

Did you say your name was Tracy? I am also from WA. I live in Bellevue and ride out of Bridle State Park. I am land locked, as I have no trailer.
Are you anywhere nearby?

Caroline

What the heck is "carrot deal'?

Welcome to the forum, Tracy! :) Good luck with your OTTB mare. They make excellent dressage horses (I do lower level dressage as well and enjoy hacking out).

tinyliny:

I am north of Bellingham so a wee bit far from you.

The carrot deal is finding the carrots to "HOARD" for lack of better term...the darn carrot finders at the top of the page..it tells you where they are..and you go get it before someone else does. A carrot count is on your avatar and name thingie. I have no idea what it all means really...or if it means anything..just trying to have fun and get in involved.

Thanks all for the welcome!
