NW Ohio here..

Hey all! Just thought I would say hi and tell ya alittle about myself.I'm a stay at home mom of 4 and we currently raise dairy goats and chickens. We don't have a horse yet but would like to get one in the spring for our kids to enjoy riding.I homeschool them so there is plenty of time and desire to learn.I am interested in a haflinger because of what I have read about them.We don't have a huge pasture but do have good alfalfa hay.The horse would be in with our goats during the day and then a seperate stall at night possibly.I'm a beginner rider and will be taken lessons before we get the horse.I have bought a few books on horse care but experience is always the better teacher.Well looking forward to getting to know ya'll and learning as much as I can.

Thanks for the welcome! Can't wait to own a horse.I have always loved them but could never have one till now! YAY! This seems like a wonderful forum I'm sure I will refer to often. My daughter has been begging to get a horse for a few years and everytime we pass one she nearly jumps out of her seat and screams. We did look at one but he had bad habits (biting) and hasn't been worked with much.I need one dead broke lol Besides he was only 2 and I think an older mare is what we need.My daughter loves paints but we have to get something small for now till we get the hang of it and my kids are older.I'm still nervous around those big beautiful horses.I know in time I'll get more comfortable like we did with our goats.I started off with minnies and now raise large dairy goats that are the size of a pony lol You should see my kids tryen to hop on one of them. It's a sight LOL They just stand there like what the heck are you doing heehee We did plan on training our goats for cart but none of the kids have wanted to do it for 4H yet.
