Calamity's surgery (photos)

Calamity had her surgery today. Took appx 15 minutes..then about 45 minutes for her to get back up and steady on her feet. Here are a couple of cell phone photos I shot while watching.

Surgery room. Right before surgery.

Recovery. Waiting for her to wake up.

She is now at home and doing well. Eating and drinking fine. Everything looks good. Only thing I do now is watch and make sure infection doesn't set in.

What type of surgery did she have? She's a cute little thing.

I am out of the loop here... Guessing it was an umbilical hernia?

Glad everything went well.

It was an umbilical hernia. Calamity has developed some swelling to the front lower left of her abdomen. Spoke to the vet, he thinks it's just some edema and said he didn't think there was any major concern. We're going to keep an eye on it overnight and if it gets worse or changes, we'll be taking her to the vet immediately.

Here is her story:

Thank you. Calamity still has some swelling, but it looks like it's finally starting to go down. She's also starting to act more like her normal self. She whinned at me today as I was headed her way and she hasn't done that in a couple of days. Hopefully in another day or two she'll be back to her old self.

I guess I did not see that you changed her name to Calamity... that is cute... what did you name the male?

Glad the surgery went well. I'm sure that she'll heal up just fine. She's just too darn cute :D.

Right now she's looking fairly pathetic. I swear she's just milking the surgery deal...hoping she'll get some extra scratches if I feel sorry for her. (which of course works.)
