How they change.

Copied this idea from P_D, thought it was a really nice way to show how much our little darlings change as they grow up. Even we as owners sometimes forget how quickly and drastically things can change. So here is Rafe, from birth til now.

He is so BIG! I want him. Or you can just give me that black Percheron in the background. Is that Big John?

smrobs 10-03-2010 10:27 PM

Yeppers, that's John. He and Rafe are the best of friends.

It's amazing that I can remember the horse's names on here but if you asked me what handle went with what horse I wouldn't be able to say. You have such beautiful horses.

smrobs 10-03-2010 10:44 PM

Well, thank you. I kinda think so too.

And don't feel bad, I have always remembered horses better than I do people LOL.

Awww...hes growin up! I too am a sucker for big john. All your horses for that much. I can tell ya something you already know...Rafe is gonna be a great using horse. He may not be tearing up the ring as a show pony but I betcha that boy will be able to pull your house off its foundation. Is he spunky yet? Hes got everything I like in a speed horse. Short, well angled pasterns. Good slopey shoulder. Built like two circles with an oval in the middle. Those horses usually have the *real* speed.

smrobs 10-03-2010 10:48 PM

Oh, yeah, he's spunky alright...................sometimes LOL. I got a good laugh at him the other day, he made about 3 circles of the big pasture (around 30 acres) at a dead run, bucking, farting, and squealing. Poor Jesse was trying so hard to keep up but just couldn't . He will certainly have a good amount of speed, as long as his legs are going to be, he probably just won't be very quick on his feet. Not good enough to be a good cutting horse anyway:wink:.

Aww..yah! Love that you did this. I <heart> Rafe. It's amazing how much he changed from his 1 month to his 5 month to his 12 months. At 12 months he looks so much more "horse" like than my Lyric does. If he was here, I'd honestly have to keep reminding myself, "he's just a baby".

Super big hugs being sent his way!! I love Rafe!

corinowalk 10-03-2010 10:53 PM

He'll probably be a bit too big for the quick turns but if you need to get from A to B in the fastest time...he may just be your boy! His build reminds me lots of my Heart Horse. He *was* quick on his feet and while I have no idea of his background before I bought him at 15, he sure did like cows! My former BO used him on the farm all the time. Never feared a rope and loved to stare down a cow. He thought it was a **** game! LOL

rafe is such a handsome boy. I do have a question though.... what happened to your panels?? (the ones in his 2 1/2 month old pic)
