I just might need this filly... what do you think?
I like this two year old filly and if her price can come down ($5k for a 2 year old), I would like to go see her and buy her. What do you all think of her conformation.... I don't need perfection, but I would like a western pleasure type ride.
Her hocks are a bit too straight for me and her neck ties in a bit high. She will likely never be comfortable with a headset below level. I don't know if you are looking to maybe someday show WP or just have a nice riding horse. For showing, I would say probably not, for just a nice horse to ride, I'm sure she'd be fine. IMHO, not worth even close to $5K though (looks like they are trying to get people to pay for the color).
I agree that they are a bit money hungry based off color.... thanks for letting me know what you think.
she's cute, but she's nothing fancy, she's way too pricey. I love her color though.
I know she is nothing fancy.... but I do like her name (Stars Smoke Screen) because it goes with Citrus' name (Stars Burn My Eyes) and her coloring. I don't think she is horrible though.
she's definitely not horrible, she's adorable and her name is cute. But at the same time, that's alot for her. It's kind of a hard picture to see too.
Love her coloring. I noticed the same thing Smrobs pointed out on my filly today. She looks to be a bit straight in the hock. I honestly don't know how that would/will affect her movement. Hard to see her shoulder in that picture. (or it could just be me, I'm not wearing my glasses.) She looks a bit butt high. (but she's still growing) I honestly couldn't imagine spending 5k on a 2 yr old though. (prices aren't that high in my area for well broke horses.)
Good luck if you decide to go look at her. Hope you will keep us posted and take lots of photos. She's definately easy to look at with that coloring.
The only thing that looks really good in this picture is her coloring. If you are serious about her, definitely get a vet check.
Straight hocks tend to be a sign of a weaker back. Making them more prone to back injuries, which suck. I would be very careful before buying any horse. I would get a vet check and get your farrier to look at her feet before hand. You never know what might pop up.
That's pretty expensive for a 2 year old, even here, without super-remarkable bloodlines / potential. Her color is nice but not *that* nice!
I kind of agree, I don't see that classic western pleasure look with her confirmation but I don't know enough to say anything definitive.
