There are some horse related words that I see misspelled over and over again all over the internet.
I thought it would be fun to start a list of correct spellings for horse terms. :)
#1) Conformation (not confirmation)
#2) LUNGE (not lounge?) ahahaha I still don't know which is right...
I have seen that one spelled so many ways!! good one. :)
#3) Pastern (not pasturn)
^LOL soo true! :D
#4) Breeches (not britches or breetches). LOL!
This is a good topic!
However, I can't spell so I'm not going to comment on anything
i can't think of anything off the top of my head, but i'll have to take a look around.
i do know before here i used to spell definitely with an 'a' (definiately)
Great idea! I honestly hate it when I see things spelled improperly. (watch me have misspelled that... or that!)
GaIT = how a horse moves, walk trot canter/walk jog lope/ whatever
GaTE = the thing that keeps your horses in the paddock, and swings open to let you and the horses you choose in/out.
HelmET = (not helmit) is a brain bucket
Breed = a horse's "race" if you will, or to breed a mare is to impregnate a mare. A mare is never bread, that's something you eat, she's bred.
Hooves, not hoofs = horses' feet.
more later, gotta go work.
hahhhhahahahahha ^^^ i LOVE IT! a brain bucket lol made me crack up!
i admit i say horse feet sometimes
another thing i don't really like is when people say da horse instead of the horse. or replace "er" with an 'a'
But i did know a few people who talked like that. I bothered me, and i find it makes it a little hard to read
personal pet peeve is "welch" pony! um... your pony is not a grape, it is a WELSH pony....
