Building her butt muscles to make her bootylicious!
My horse has a pathetic BUTT!
She works her front end and barely the back. I noticed when lunging her last night she pushed off with her front end ALL the time. You could see her front muscles getting the work out and not really the back :-| I seriously don't know how to fix this problem.I don't have any hills where I ride..all flat area. I read up that some people say trot poles...I don't have many poles.
Also,I was thinking about getting muscle builder supplements for her but would this actually benefit her or be a waste of money?

My trainer has me working on this to build muscles on my horses booty..
I back her up in a circle with her constantly yeilding her front end around. I'm not sure how to explain what it looks like, but it gets her but up underneath her. Also, just a lot of backing excercises. Another (blah, blah blah..blah blah blah blah lol) is to have her pivot on her front end, having her back legs swing around. It gets her to spread her legs apart and use them more.

I had to build up muscles on one of my horses, and we just fed him vitamn E human pills. They worked wonders! And his mane and tail grew which made me very happy:D

You have toget the horse moving up off your leg and lightening himself in your hands. You have to push the engergy up from his back end into your hands which trap the energy. You will feel the horse's head lighten inyour hands. What works in dressage is inside leg to outside rein. You push the horse from your inside calf to your outside rein which is holding steady. A trainer would really be more beinificial since I havnt seen you ride orthe way your horse works...

Correct riding leads to correct muscling. I also suggest a trainer that will work with you to achieve correct work - and thus correct muscling. We can back up our horses and run them up hills forever but it still comes down to turning on the engine behind.

I don't have the money right now to use the help of a trainer.
I am hoping to do it myself.
I will go with backing up,trotting, and my friend messaged me and said she has a lunging caveson.I will see if she will let me try it out and show me how to use it.
I would ask a trainer but as of now I am tight on money untill the holidays pass.

Again, ill repeat what anabel said, backing up and trotting around won't do anything unless you're getting the horse to work from behind

Also leg yielding will help if you can get her to do it properly, stepping under her self etc will help to build up muscle. But trotting imo is the best gait to build up muscle on the hind, as well as backing up to help getting them to use their hind and bringing it under them selves. Good luck :]
