Professional horse training schools/Horsemanship schools

In the United States, what are the good, well reputed schools/apprenticeships/programs for horsemanship? I'm looking into going into horse training professionally, and paying/attending a horsemanship program instead of getting a degree. I've done research on the internet, but I also know websites can lie :-P so I wanted some personal opinions/knowledge of the available opportunities. Anyone have suggestions?

P.S. I'm well aware of the unreliability of this type of career, so please, no replies saying "Don't do that. Go to college"

Thanks all

My best friend is going to school in Missouri at William Woods University learning to be a riding instructor (4 year program). She tells me that there are lots of horses and good instructors. She doesn't have as much riding time there are she had hoped, but there aren't many other equestrian programs that are better than this one.
