Saddles & colors
I liked this saddle...though I don't think it comes in different colors:
17" ALL PURPOSE ENGLISH SADDLE PKG MEDUM CHESTNUT - eBay (item 370441191296 end time Nov-03-10 14:37:42 PDT)
It looked pretty decent to me, but I have a bay thoroughbred and I can't decide on a color. I like Havana but I don't like how the bridle might blend with his coat...
I like light/sky blue for his saddlepad and stuff, but what do you think? :D
here's some pictures.
I wouldn't be worrying about the color so much as the quality. :?
Those saddle packages are crap. You definitely get what you pay for when you cheap out on tack.
The color's fine. The tack itself is not.
I agree 100% with Speed Racer. If you have a limited budget, your best bet is to buy a quality used saddle. Brands like Stubben, Crosby and Passier have been around for years, and often you can find older models $300 and under.
Agreed and it will also depend what you are showing in I think. I believe most dressage riders use black. My daughter has a very dark brown Courbette.
Brown is perfectly legal in the dressage ring...It's just not that popular right now.
If the OP's considering buying an AP saddle I hardly think she'll be showing dressage, so the whole argument about dressage saddle colors is moot.
Yeah were not gonna show...the budget is pretty limited. $300 and under... :/
I understand that you have a budget but things on ebay tend to stink. I don't think you should worry about the color of things but I do think you should focus on the brand and quality of the tack. I try to stay with the color black but if what they have is bad I'll get one of another color that is way better in quality. I'm sure you get the point. :D
