Horse T-shirts?

I'm not very familiar with horse blankets/sheets. Does anyone know if they make a horse cover made out of jersey, T-shirt material? I'm wanting something to put on when shes all clean to keep her that way in the summer. I was thinking I could make one (yeah, I sew) if I can't find one. Everything I look at in the horsey catalogs seems really heavy.

I really don't see why you couldn't do it. I would just watch out that it didn't get caught on anything.

So you wouldn't want to use something like that for turnout right? I never thought of it getting caught on stuff.

It would rip very easy! Have you looked into horse summer sheets?

i know some t-shirts of mine would rip quite easily. I think it also depends on the quality of the t-shirt too. But i think a nice summer sheet would be your best bet.
I'm sure you could buy the material and just sew it yourself if you wanted to.

I know if i was a good sewer i'd make saddle pads and blankets for my guys.

Vida, I use a breathable nylon summer sheet on my horses... they hold up great for turnout - see if you can get rip-stop material...
I love Greenhawk:

Thanks JDI and Appy, I felt kinda silly asking. So its called a summer sheet. I think you're right FGR the jersey would be in shreds in no time. I will look into the fly sheets too, never thought of that. :)
