Crank nosebands ( questions )
a few questions i have about crank nosebands:

-how do you measure for a crank noseband? the one that came on my bridle is too big ( it fits, but the padding under the jaw almost reaches the padding on top- please excuse my laymens terms for everything, hope you all can understand ;)

- how tight should a crank noseband be? even with the padding, i use the 2 finger rule, should it be tighter? looser? or is it preference?

I don't think you can really measure for a crank noseband; it's all trial and error. The one I use on my gelding was too small, so I had to buy a larger strap that goes under his chin. Once I found one, then I could take measurements of that to make sure the new one was longer than the old one.

Fit wise, I still abide by the 2 finger rule. Many people don't use cranks because of the name and they think that have to be uber tight. But, tightness is all up the the rider. I treat mine like a normal cavesson...
