PLEASE critique my riding!
I hae been riding english for about.....1-2years and was wondering if there is anything I can improve of. I know the basics such as needing to keep my heel down and keep the sturrup on the ball of my foot. I am really working on it.!!!:-| I first started riding and loved it....well untill i started getting to the point where i was cantering and jumping 2ft(yes i know it sounds babyish)and totally made a fool of myself in a group lesson!:oops::oops::oops:I eventually quit and decided i loved horses but just wanted to be around them and not ride.So i went out to see our familys horses and rode my mums old draftx Rio bareback....After a while I was brave enough to canter bareback! i wanted to get back into lessons!At first mum said no and i would come home from my sisters lessons and cry:cry:After ages of begging i finally got back into lessons.My coach now sas i have a great seat and perfect legs when not cantering.Oh and btw i am currently jumping 2'6 and have my first pony club and stable managment class tommorow!:D Anyway I will include some videos and pics of me riding :)

I think you look great! The only thing that stood out to me is that you occasionally leaned slightly too far forward. You and your pony are adorable. You are doing really well!
lol thank you! yea i noticed that too. I really wanted to post this.Me and my dad went out to the barn today and i rode my mare whisper as usual she was perfect :D <3 I was really proud of her canter in a 20meater circle(No arena just grass)after my awsome ride a women at the barn commented that my heels where horrible and my seat needed to be deeper. she also said and i quote"I just wanted to scream KEEP YOUR HEELS DOWN!" so i just thanked her for her advice and went on my way :) it really didnt bother me but then i figured may as well see what others think :D

In the first video, you look like you're gripping with your knees since your toes are turned out. Ideally your weight should be evenly distributed from your knee all the way down to your calves. The other thing that stands out is your horse is cantering counter-bent and is losing his balance as a result. Your instructor would do you a big favor by teaching you how to keep consistent bend and inside flexion at all gaits. Looks good otherwise.
Thank you for the Advice MyBoyPuck and Deerly. I am not at the stage to learn counter-bending tho my sister explained to me what it is. I totally agree with you that I am gripping with my knees, A bad habit from cantering bareback.... :\ I am REALLY having a problem with keaping my heels down during a canter. If you have any advice plz share :)
You have the horse bent towards the rail as if the outer rien was to short. She should be bent towards the arc of the circle and you need to you you legs to keep her on the rail if she moves in. I also thought you needed to sit deeper, you seemed way up in the saddle for flat work
You seemed to be leaning too far forward to me too. And I think you need to relax into your seat more...maybe the stirrups a little longer. You seem to be trying to "make" the horse move (with the movement of your hands and body), instead of letting him move and moving with him.
I don't know, I could be wrong. There ars so many different styles of riding.
When you're cantering, try to keep your upper body more still by pressing your heels down and absorbing the bounce with your legs.
Overall pretty good! You may be having difficulty keeping your seat with a saddle. It looks like you are sliding around too much & trying to rock her with your hands & body.
She looks like a good steady horse, so try riding without stirrups to get comfortable with the saddle. Keep telling yourself "sit back" & maybe you won't lean forward so much. Your stirrups look to short too...look at how nice & straight you are sitting when bareback...you should be just like that in the saddle.

Once again thanks! lol My trainer says my sturrips have to be that short cause i lose them all the time. she also sas my seat is ok but ill take your advice :)
