Royal King Classic Distance Rider Saddle?

Trying it out now, on loan. Seems to fit my TB very well! Anyone have this saddle? Comments?

Royal King saddles are Asian made junk. I would not buy one or take one if it was given to me. You're much better off buying an older used saddle, that is a quality American made brand.

Crest Ridge saddles have a few different trees and higher pommels, that are more likely to fit a TB type horse. They sometimes have "Scratch & Dent" saddles at a reduced price, or used saddles.

This one is used, also what makes them cheap? I have had friends who have used this brand daily with no problems? I am also not sure of this style of saddle! I tried it yesterday for a 3 hour ride and it felt GREAT!

The trees are either fiberglass or softwood, both of which will warp and crack over time.

The hardware is nickle-plated, which will rust over time and often breaks.

The leather is painted on, chemically tanned leather that does not hold dye well and does not wear well. Once it becomes scuffed or scratched, you have to have it redyed and revarnished to make it look decent again. It won't accept oil well and is almost impossible to condition thoroughly.

Almost any saddle made in China or other parts of Asia are not good quality and should be avoided. Some good saddles come out of Vietnam, but those plants are owned by the saddle company and quality control is strict. Most Asian made saddles come out of big factories with a brand name stamped on them. The factories are either government owned or owned by a private company, both of which will make saddles for any wholesale buyer and put whatever stamp on them they need.
