Horse Appraisal? Need your opinions!
I have a 9 year old registered Quarter Horse gelding. He's about 15.1hh and seal bay/brown. I bought him trained as a pleasure horse, but I've never ridden him western pleasure. Instead most of his work has been on barrels. I've run him consistently 1D times and taken him to ABRA world the first year I ran him. I've done 25 mile endurance rides with him. He placed 4th in a NJ endurance run his first time. I've also done team penning, cowboy polo, and other western events. I've started him English. He's good for low level dressage and I've jumped him about 3foot. He's extremely calm and laid back, but does know how to work. I've given lessons off of him to beginners and he's been used in a handicapped riding programme.
Sorry about the not so great photos.
Very pronounced cheek bones! :D
Depends on the market in your area. The economy is really bad right now, I'm having trouble selling my own horse. He sounds like a really nice boy, the part I don't get is that he's jumped 3 feet but was just started English? and has HE done dressage? or is he a prospect? kinda confusing there. Based on what you've said, I'd say 6-8,000.
I havent shown him dressage. He's been trained dressage and has done schooling. (Mostly working on some of the movements). He's started english as in he is ridden mostly but can be ridden english with the right rider. I've had him jump 3 feet and he knows how to collect himself and carry himself english.
Does that make a bit more sense? He's not as confident in English as lately I havent worked him with it. At the moment I wouldnt put him over a 3' fence as he hasnt been worked over fences in awhile.
