A very neat video showing Western vs. English
The Wrangler NFR posted this on their Facebook page and I thought it was really neat.

It really shows the top-notch training that goes into both Western and English horses and certainly shows how similar the two "different" disciplines are in their training!

The riders even switch horses in the end. That was pretty cool.

Just wanted to share!

I've seen that one before. Kinda funny, but neat

That is a nice video. I think that is Germany, no? Reining is big in Germany. Their Reiner at the WEG this summer was expected to win or place big, but right in his first spin he tripped over his own legs. Wierd.

In my opinion, the Cowboy is the better rider of those two. If only WP people rode as well as that fellow did.

That was so cool, and I guess it depends on your comfort level, as I thought the dressage rider was best. Not saying I am right, it is just interesting that it might come from where you are most familiar.

I would also vote that the Western rider was better, just because when they switched horses, he seemed better able to replicate the English moves on the English horse than the English rider did on his Western horse.

But by no means were either of them a "bad" rider! Beautiful horses too! I'd take either. :)

Cool video!
Just gotta say it though, that lady's wooos were pretty annoying.
I wish I could ride that well. My vote has to go to the Western Rider as well.

I love this video.

To voice my opinion, I actually do not find the Western rider the better "rider" - I find the Dressage horse better trained. The Western horse is being ridden two handed, which indicates he's younger and greener and even with the Western rider up, his spins are not super impressive - he gets barely any leg crossing and seems to be fumbling for his very first spin (improves in the other direction). I personally think it's the horses that are at very different skill levels for their disciplines and not the riders!

Regardless of the training, imo, if these are both 'top notch' riders, they should both have been able to get alot out of the horses, according to what the horses have been trained to...the western guy definitely seemed more able to do so, and imo the dressage horse was much more calm and relaxed under HIS guidance than he was with his apparant regular rider.

MM are you voting for the rider or the horse, what is your opinion as right now there is Cowboy 3, Dressage 1. Obviously as I was the only dressage, I do not see this vote as holding.

I agree with MM and think that the dressage horse was better trained. I loved this video. I giggled when they switched horses and the little cowboy was trying to find his stirrups. So funny!
