Ok, so I got a lab puppy this summer and she is adorable. She is now 6 months old. She is a yellow lab, but she has green eyes and a pink nose. (I'll include a picture :D) She is super sweet and wouldn't hurt a fly.
But this has been going on for awhile now. When we take her in the car with us, she gets totally out of character. She is very quiet, shakey, wobbly, and she drools like crazy! I mean it's like a faucet! she drools until she runs out of saliva. Is she getting car sick or is it something else? Like nervousness? When we took her with us to the farm in the pickup, we tried putting her in the front seat with us, but she still drooled and she keaned her head against me and closed her eyes the whole car ride. I felt so bad for her :-(!
When she gets out of the car, or when the car isn't moving, she is just fine and is her normal peppy self. does anyone know what this could be?
Just sounds to me like she has a phobia of riding in cars.
She could be susceptible to motion sickness. Is there such a thing as doggy-gravol? Some dogs just don't travel well.
Very common. Try giving her a dose of benedryl before traveling. 25 mg should do the trick. We have one like this, and that's what our vet told us to do. 25 is a low dose for a big dog, but many times will calm them enough.

Thank you guys soo much! I was worried there was something serious. Next time she visits the vet, I will ask about the benedryl ans such.
