I roped a steer!
 

The barn I board at is primarily a western barn. I am one of the few english riders there, and I know absolutely nothing about western riding or roping.

Over the past couple weeks, the old man who runs the place has been teaching me how to swing a rope. Yesterday I was on Bourbon bareback in a rope halter just putzing around the barn, when I had my husband hand me a rope and get out one of the plastic steers.

Bourbon didn't care at all that I was swinging a rope around his head. He didn't even flinch once. I was able to catch the steer! Granted we were standing still as was the plastic steer, but I was excited. :D I'm probably not going to get into roping (Bourbon is a 16.2hh TB, so I doubt he'd be any good), but it is something fun to do when I'm just hanging around the barn.

I'm so proud of my boy. :D
