Pulled muscle or something??
OK, so after my horse got kicked he has been having a hard time bending to the left, and he got adjusted again last friday and is still having problems. So i'm having his massage therapist come out after xmas, but have been just doing his neck stretches nice and easy. Well last night i was doing his normal stretches and was helping him nice and soft reach for his treats. Well he popped a couple of times which is pretty normal for him, and than we did his stretch between his legs, and he popped again. Well after that he started acting like he was choking/couldn't move his neck. So i was petting him and saw this HUGE swelling on the side of neck!!!! Like it was massive, and harder than a rock. So i was like ok... that as not there before, and was worried he was choking. well i tried to massage it like i normally do, and it was not moving and i noticed it was getting bigger. So i had my friends come look while i was trying to figure out what vet was on call. Well my phone wasn't working so i went to walk him outside to get my signal and i turned around to make sure he wasn't in too much pain following me, and looked and the lump was gone!!!
So my question is, since my vet never called me back.. Could that have been some kind of muscle thing? I mean he for sure wasn't choking because he was getting small pieces of cookies, and he wasn't doing his swolling burp thing like normal. He did start pawing the ground, but wasn't like stretching out trying to swollow.... Oh the swelling was gone in like 5 mins, and i went ahead and got on him and walked him around and he was moving his neck fine and didn't act like he was in pain or anything. No lump tonight either.. no stretches though.
Uh.. bump... anyone?
I think no one has replied because they don't know what to say.
That is certainly something I have never seen before. Hopefully he's okay now. :-)
