OTTB With "small" fracture- can he jump someday?

So i'm looking at a possible project tb that is off the track and is "vet checked to be sound in any field in the spring." They say that "he has a small fracture above his ankle." Will he be able to jump someday or would that be too hard on his leg? I know that I would need to talk to a vet... but do you guys know any horses that have fully recovered from a fracture? Please give feedback if you have experience with this! :D

"Above his ankle" isn't very specific. A seismoid fracture? Not likely to be sound for jumping, but possible with all the right conditions being met. A cannon bone fracture? Also not likely. Well, a true cannon bone fracture would not be likely to recover and have a second career. Small cannon bone fracture, like bucked shins? Sure. A splint bone fractue? Once set, highly likely. Without specifics and xrays it's pointless to speculate. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

As maura said, very difficult with no more specifics than 'above the ankle'. If the fracture is close to the joint itself, then it's unlikely that it will be able to jump. Personally I wouldn't bother with a horse that has a fracture if you want to buy it as a prospect. There are plenty of cheap, sound horses that come off the track.
